When you’re choosing a bathroom vanity, the finished piece is only part of the story.

Behind it are the people who design it, build it, check it, answer your questions and help sort things out when you need them. There are also the materials, components and suppliers chosen along the way — all of which play a part in how that vanity looks, feels and lasts in your home.

The people behind the vanity

That was the thinking behind our stand at this year’s Kitchen + Bath Show in Sydney. Rather than focusing only on finished products, we wanted to show more of what sits behind them: our people and the partnerships that help us make them.

Sure, our vanities looked amazing. But it’s our people who make that possible, the ones who answer your questions, the ones who build the cabinets, the ones who’ll pick up the phone if something needs sorting after you’ve ordered.

That’s what being 100% Australian made actually means to us. Our products aren’t coming from a factory we’ve never seen on the other side of the world. They’re made here, by our own team, which means real control over quality, real lead times, and a real person on the other end when you need one.

Showing what goes into it

One of the things we enjoyed most at the show was pulling a vanity apart, literally.

We deconstructed one of our cabinets so people could see the materials, hardware and details that normally stay hidden once everything is assembled.

It sparked plenty of conversations and gave people a better idea of what they’re actually buying, not just what they can see from the outside.

What we took away from the show

The best part of the event was simply getting to talk to people.

What we learnt wasn’t that people love a well-made vanity. We already knew that. It was that in a time with more choices than ever, people still care about who’s behind what they’re bringing into their home.

Which, if you’re deep in your own renovation, is probably the same thing you’re weighing right now.

It’s rarely just about the piece. It’s about who you’re trusting with it.
